A unique, climate-positive, biobased, modular construction system
Our system
Our system is a fully integrated prefabricated construction solution including breathable walls and roof, cladding, floors and internal wall.
Standardised, repeated elements combine with optimal material efficiency to make a system that is affordable, scalable, quick to build and suitable for awkward access or infill sites. Panels and components are individually demountable, making it easy to partially or completely disassemble the structure, reuse elements and make non-destructive alterations.
The system can be delivered in panelised or volumetric elements, or both – whatever works better. Everything has been designed to be healthier for people and kinder to the planet.
Our system features
Affordable
We drive down the cost of high-performing natural materials by producing repeated, standardised components for most building elements. These combine with bespoke components for design flexibility.
Fast to build
The floor, wall and roof elements make up a completely integrated system that can be rapidly assembled even in constrained sites.
Adaptable
All panels are individually demountable so buildings can be altered, extended or scaled down over time without creating waste.
Breathable
The external walls and roof are highly insulated, breathable and airtight. Excess moisture in the air can escape without condensing, avoiding issues such as black mould and interstitial condensation.
Energy efficient
Natural insulation materials are far better than foamed plastic or mineral wool at protecting from hot and cold weather conditions. Our buildings need less energy to maintain comfortable, year-round room temperatures.
Future proof
Our volumetric house designs – constructed off-site and craned in – are made of the same demountable components. Assembled in days, they can also be transported between sites. Removable panels allow zero-waste alterations and access for upgrading plumbing and electrics.
Multi-purpose
For residential, it’s suitable for buildings where the top floor is no more than 11 metres above the ground. For commercial uses over that height, we integrate an engineered timber primary structure that allows up to eight stories.
Conventional construction suffers from chronic low productivity. There is a shortage of skilled labour, leading to cost inflation and delays. In the UK alone, the construction sector’s workforce has decreased by 273,000 since 2019. The sector is also responsible for the about 20-30% of all known serious occupational injuries2. Our goal is to meet these challenges with digitally manufactured construction.
